Here we grow again! Apex Plumbing, Electric, Heating, and Air is seeking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electric Apprentice to join our team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals who are eager to learn the electrical trade while gaining hands-on experience in various electrical installations and repairs. As an Apprentice Electrician, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians, assisting them in a variety of tasks while developing your skills in the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to understand project requirements.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various electrical tasks.
- Carry and organize tools, materials, and equipment at job sites.
- Follow safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform basic tasks such as measuring, cutting, and bending conduit.
- Help troubleshoot electrical issues and perform minor repairs under supervision.
- Clean and prepare job sites before and after work.
- Support high voltage and low voltage wiring installations as needed.
- Conduct inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Perform troubleshooting on electrical systems using tools such as an ohmmeter.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times.
- Adhere to company policies and industry standards.
Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical principles and terminology.
- Familiarity with schematics and ability to build electrical circuits.
- Experience or willingness to learn about high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to electrical work.
- Knowledge of industrial electrician practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and regulations in all tasks.
- Willingness to learn from experienced electricians and take direction effectively.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Previous experience or vocational training in electrical work is a plus but not required.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various conditions, including confined spaces and heights.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
