We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Charter Electrician/ Technician in Missoula, MT to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing and maintaining generators, transfer switches, and inverter equipment, as well as experience working with AC and DC circuits. This position will require familiarity with industry standards and the ability to work on both high-voltage and low-voltage systems. Additionally, you will be expected to work nights during equipment cutovers within the maintenance window.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain generators ranging from 30kVA to 500kVA and associated transfer switches.
- Work with AC and DC inverter equipment, handling both high-voltage and low-voltage circuits.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Charter Playbook 12 standards.
- Install and maintain DC cabling, including stringing cables to ladder racks and working with various sizes of DC cables and lugs.
- Handle both AC and DC circuits safely, with a solid understanding of the circuitry involved in DC/AC equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on DC power plants.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, to complete equipment cutovers during maintenance windows.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all industry standards and company guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with the installation of 30kVA to 500kVA generators and transfer switches.
- Strong understanding and experience with AC & DC inverter equipment.
- Proficient in working with AC & DC circuits (120V to 600V AC).
- Experience with DC cabling and low-voltage work, including the knowledge of different sizes of DC cables and lugs.
- Ability to string DC cables to ladder racks.
- Knowledge of DC power plants and associated equipment.
- Journeyman Wireman (JW) License in Montana, with other state licenses considered a plus.
- Clean driving record.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Willingness to travel as required for job assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional state licenses outside of Montana are highly valued.
- Previous experience with 120V to 600V AC systems is preferred.
